FAS (Free Alongside Ship)FAS (Free Alongside Ship) is an international trade term and part of the Incoterms. It describes that the seller delivers the goods to the port of shipment and places them alongside the ship. Up to this point, the seller bears all costs and risks, which are then transferred to the buyer on an ongoing basis. Thus, the seller bears all costs and risks including loading and unloading, insurance and freight. This clause is used exclusively for maritime transport and is particularly suitable for bulky and bulk goods.
