The low-alloy material CuBe2 is not suitable for welding. Mainly due to the beryllium content, welding can produce toxic fine dust that can only be removed by complex extraction systems. Therefore welding is not recommended.

The machinability of CuBe2 is only moderate to poor in both solution-annealed and age-hardened conditions. This is again mainly due to the beryllium content. Hazardous substances can be generated during machining, further limiting machinability.

This copper alloy forges well. A variety of forged parts can therefore be produced regardless of material condition.

CuBe2 is generally considered non-magnetic, though it often exhibits a slight paramagnetic behavior.

Compared with pure copper, CuBe2 shows significantly improved corrosion resistance. It offers very good protection especially against neutral compounds and organic substances. Additionally, corrosion resistance is maintained in marine environments.
