CuSn7Zn4Pb7-C has poor weldability. Due to its composition the material is not suitable for welding processes such as (shielded) gas welding or manual arc welding.

CuSn7Zn4Pb7-C exhibits very good machinability. Machining produces smooth surfaces and generally does not generate problematic chips. However, the casting skin can impair the component surface quality as well as tool life and wear resistance during machining.

The copper alloy CuSn7Zn4Pb7-C has very good casting properties. It is particularly suitable for sand casting, centrifugal casting, continuous casting and gravity die casting, with typical pouring temperatures between 1070 - 1120°C depending on the process. To achieve excellent surface results it is important to avoid contaminants such as sand on the surface.

The alloy CuSn7Zn4Pb7-C is neither para- nor ferromagnetic and therefore exhibits no magnetic response.

This material has very good corrosion resistance compared with other copper alloys. It provides reliable protection against atmospheric and industrial influences and is especially well suited for applications in contact with seawater or drinking water. In addition, 2.1090 is particularly resistant to stress-corrosion cracking. It is not resistant, however, to solutions containing cyanides or halides, to ammonia, oxidizing acids, or sulfides.
