CuSn8 generally has relatively good weldability. Suitable methods include resistance welding processes such as butt welding, as well as MIG, TIG, or electron beam welding.

Because CuSn8 is a material with high toughness and wear resistance, its machinability is correspondingly reduced—cutting causes high tool wear. Depending on the process, unfavorable chip forms (e.g. continuous/ribbon chips) can occur.
