CW614N has poor weldability. Because of its material properties, processes such as gas, TIG (WIG) or MIG welding are not suitable. If welding cannot be avoided in the process, resistance welding is the most appropriate option.

Compared with other copper alloys, the corrosion resistance of CW614N is relatively poor. This is mainly due to the high zinc content, which makes the material more sensitive to water, saline solutions and organic fluids. Associated with this is dezincification, a form of corrosion that can occur in certain waters. The alloy is also susceptible to stress corrosion cracking, which can be reduced by appropriate heat treatments.
